Dr Frederika Gerull is a neuro-affirmative Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years' experience in the public sector, Westmead Hospital, and several private clinics. She focuses on Anxiety, Trauma and complex PTSD, Depression, and neurodiversity, and works with individuals aged 16 and over. You can expect a holistic approach and trauma-informed care from Dr Frederika, with a focus on treating complex, chronic Post-traumatic Stress Disorder.
With a passion for neuroscience, neurophysiology and clinical psychology, Dr Frederika enables a collaborative, multi-modal approach to the individual client's needs, integrating interpersonal Psychotherapy with CBT, ACT, Hypnosis, MBSR, internal family systems therapy, memory reconsolidation, and neuromodulation. Applying these techniques, she goes beyond symptom management to get to the root of the problem. Dr Frederika is currently training in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) to support her CBT practice for clients suffering from Depression.
Passionate about creating a safe and collaborative therapeutic environment, Dr Frederika is a warm, non-judgmental therapist in the consult room. She has trained and taught in the Masters of Medicine (Psychotherapy) at University of Sydney, a trauma-informed psychotherapy program developed at Westmead Hospital with particular focus on Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). Dr Frederika has published extensively on BPD.
